How to Cope with Varicose Veins During Pregnancy

When the stomach is getting bigger during pregnancy, usually arising shadow bluish veins under the skin or varicose veins.

The blue line is called varicose veins arising from changes in the body's metabolism in pregnant women, the changes in levels of the hormone progesterone in the body. Varicose veins can also be caused by stepped up the blood flow in the veins due to venous pressure in the abdomen due to enlarged uterine size.

Varicose veins in pregnancy can be treated with preventive measures and reduce the symptoms. Here are some things you can do:

* Note the position of the body in daily activities.
Avoid standing or sitting for too long. When you have to sit for a long time, as much as possible raise your feet higher than the pelvis. When lying down, elevate your legs by putting a pillow under your feet. When lying down, select the side to the left so that the veins are located behind the uterus slightly to the right and not depressed.

* Avoid lifting heavy objects.
Lifting heavy objects make pressure on the veins getting worse. For lifting goods, first balance the body by stretching the legs and stood upright. Then, lower your body by bending your knees do not bend at the waist to emphasize the load. Goods lift with a mighty hand and legs, not with your back strength.

* Avoid excessive weight gain.
By keeping the body weight and body weight did not seek excessive increase, the load on the foot can be reduced. This will reduce or prevent the occurrence of varicose veins in the legs.

* Avoid excessive straining when pup.
Excessive straining will exacerbate venous vascular conditions that cause haemorrhoids. Increase consumption of high-fibber foods and foods that contain vitamin A and vitamin C to help the elasticity of blood vessels and skin.

* Avoid tight clothing or using a corset.
Clothes that are too tight and corsets, corset especially to toe, can interfere with blood flow. This condition can trigger varicose veins.

* Perform regular exercise.
Mild exercise such as walking or swimming for at least 20-30 minutes per day is able to make the veins function properly in pumping blood to the heart. That way, it will reduce the emphasis on local blood vessels, thus preventing the occurrence of varicose veins.

* Perform a simple relaxation to the foot.
The trick is just sitting in a chair, lift the foot and ankle circled slowly and regularly so that the veins around the ankle actively pumping blood to the heart. Perform this exercise 10 times on each lap leg and repeat every 10 minutes.

* Choose footwear that is able to support the body and comfortable to wear.
Good footwear is able to make your feet more comfortable to move and support the body properly. Choose low-heeled footwear in order to balance the growing body leaning forward due to the size of the stomach. Low-heeled footwear also helps blood circulation thus preventing varicose veins. Avoid using narrow shoes or sandals. Measure shoes during the day because it was the size of the foot somewhat enlarged so as to choose the right size. Also, avoid the pointy end in order to provide a comfortable space for your toes.

* Use special stocking calf.
Take advantage of support hosiery (stockings) to help support the calf veins in order to pump blood up to the heart so there is no blockage. Use before the mother got out of bed and go at bedtime.
